Many companies have taken up the call of improving diversity within their organization. They have good intentions, they have even made pledges. Pledges and and intentions don't equal impact. During the 2021 Spring SourceCon conference - Sourcing Beyond the Mask, SmartRecruiters Chief Diversity Officer Rocki Howard pointed out that Diversity Cannot Exist in a Vacuum.
Workplace discrimination against LGBTQ+ members is a significant problem, with many LGBTQ+ employees believing their company could do more. Stonewall research has found over a third (35%) of LGBTQ+ staff have hidden their identity at work for fear of discrimination. More needs to be done to build an inclusive environment, increase support for LGBTQ+ employees and offer equitable benefits.
